ICON Building - Buckhead

This recently completed luxury highrise/retail building is located in the heart of Buckhead across from Lenox Mall. The City of Atlanta requires all surrounding roads of new construction buildings to be re-paved. This project required us to re-pave a portion of Stratford Road and, on the other side of the building, a section of a service street. Specifications called for profile milling the streets down to a depth of 1.5 inches then re-pave with 1.5 inches (compacted thickness) of 9.5mm asphalt topping. The timing of this project was perfect, with limited traffic on the very busy Peachtree Road due to the Corona Virus stay at home orders, however, we did have lane closures and also traffic control accompanied by 2 Georgia State Troopers and a Fulton County Deputy. This provided a safe work environment not only for our crews but for the safety of vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
